2D or not 2D?




This 2D concept 'map' of Shard is a composition of satellite imagery worked up in Photoshop.

It shows the main areas of Shard separated by stretches of ocean but I felt I was straying from the main idea of dimensionality that the original concept envisaged.

By splitting the different cultures onto their own floating worlds joined by asteroid causeways I was able to return to a more fantastic Space Opera feel for the game...
